Bethany Lutheran offers several options for Homeschool students ages 5-9 years old. At BLPS, we understand the unique needs of homeschool families, especially in the formative years of first and second grade. That’s why we’ve introduced our Homeschool Core AND Homeschool Enrichment Program—a flexible solution for registered homeschoolers seeking academic enrichment in a supportive school environment

Homeschool

 

Our Hybrid Homeschool program is a TEACHER LEAD, DROP-OFF PROGRAM designed for homeschool students in 1st and 2nd grade.  This program allows registered homeschool students to fulfill their core classes at Bethany Lutheran, while maintaining the flexibility of home instruction.

Our Hybrid Homeschool Program empowers you to remain your child’s primary educator while providing the benefits of structured classroom learning and meaningful social connections with peers.

  • Flexibility for Traveling Families – Our curriculum supplements ensure learning continues seamlessly, whether at home or on the go.​

Enrichment Add-On

ADD-ON Enrichment Classes and Lunch Bunch option

Class Hours:

Monday - Friday

Lunch Bunch:

12:00 pm - 1: 00 pm 

Enrichment Classes

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

You can extend your child's school day with our Enrichment Add-On.  Our enrichment classes consist of a rotating list of specials such as art, ancient civilizations, S.T.E.A.M., soccer, cooking, and more.  Lunch Bunch gives students an opportunity to socialize with their peers during lunch and recess hour.

Portfolio Guidance

Portfolio Review Referrals

Each student will receive a full learning kit through Abeka.  The Abeka grade level curriculum kit includes:

Classroom Kit: language arts, phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, reading books, arithmetic, science.

Additional at-home resources: health & history with corresponding workbooks, and cursive handwriting book. 

Teacher Keys- corresponding answer keys to your child's curriculum will be available in our Homeschool Resource Center.  Answer keys are also available for purchase at an additional cost.

 

Portfolio Assistance

Never homeschooled before?  Not a problem!  We will help guide you through your portfolio preparations.

Homeschool Core families will be provided with an organized binder of their child's work AND a list of qualified reviewers to sign off on portfolio submittals. Please note: MD residents will be required to make an appointment with their local school district for portfolio reviews.

Beyond The Classroom

At Bethany Lutheran, learning doesn't stop when the bell rings.

At Bethany Lutheran, we enrich our students' learning experiences with a variety of engaging on-site and off-site field trips throughout the school year. As a Homeschool Core student, your child will have the exciting opportunity to participate in these activities, alongside their peers, fostering both learning and community connections.

School Events

Our annual school events offer wonderful opportunities for your child to become an active part of the Bethany community. Highlights of the year include exciting activities such as the Me Museum, the Christmas and Easter Programs, our fun-filled Summer Bash, and picture days, creating lasting memories and a sense of belonging.

Community Outreach

Throughout the school year, we provide several meaningful opportunities for students and families to connect with our Bethany community and beyond. Whether it's through service projects, charity events, or outreach programs, these experiences allow our students to cultivate a spirit of compassion and generosity, while fostering relationships with others. By giving back, we not only strengthen our bonds within the school but also teach our children the value of making a positive difference in the world around them.

Our Homeschool Enrichment Classes are designed for homeschool students ages 5-9 years old.  

ENRICHMENT
PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Bethany Lutheran’s Homeschool Enrichment Program provides a diverse and rotating selection of enrichment classes designed specifically for registered Kindergarten through 2nd-grade homeschool students. Our program helps supplement your child’s core education with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and social interaction.

Standard enrichment classes—such as art and Spanish—are offered for the full semester, providing a consistent opportunity for your child to explore and develop new skills over time.

In addition, we offer rotating classes that change every 6 weeks, introducing new subjects and activities such as S.T.E.A.M. projects, cooking, gardening, drama, and more. This rotation keeps the learning experience fresh and exciting, allowing your child to discover new passions and interests throughout the school year.

Whether your child loves to explore the arts or delve into scientific experiments, our program offers something for everyone in a supportive, faith-based environment.

Kindergarten - 2nd grade

45 minutes - 1 hour per class

Our rotating enrichment classes are offered in 6-week sessions and change throughout the school year.  

Standard Classes

Full Semester Classes

Standard Classes are offered by the Semester.  These classes include topics such as Art and Spanish.
